Photogenic couple Tiffany & Matt tied the knot on one of the few sunny days in Paris this summer. Along with many of our brides this season, Tiffany chose gorgeous hues of purple for her bouquet and decoration. Everything was beautifully captured by the great team at One and Only Paris Photography.
We even managed to pull of a guerilla champagne and cake tasting on the Champ de Mars following the ceremony!

Fête in France enjoyed a bit of vacation and is now busybusybusy working on 2010 weddings. Anne toured around Portugal in the unceasing rain and when she returned, Nancy set off for the Basque Country and enjoyed lovely sunny springtime weather. Both indulged in the fine foods and wines of the Iberian penninsula.
We won’t bore you with all of our vacation photos – but this one was too cheesy-yet-cute not to share!

While it’s doubtful that people would come to punches over pastry, passion runs deep regarding wedding desserts and the different traditions are worth understanding.
“In this corner…”
The “Pièce montée” (literally “assembled piece” or “mounted piece”) is usually a conical-shaped construction of croquembouche cream-filled puffs, held together by caramel or spun sugar or macarons the French sandwich cookies made famous by Ladurée.

…and in the other corner”
The traditional wedding cake, usually multi-tiered cake covered in frosting and decorated in myriad ways. The trend has been towards fondant icing, which gives a smooth modern look. Nowadays it’s rare to see bride and groom figurines perched on the top tier; brides prefer to have the cake topper incorporate fresh flowers or other decorative elements that tie into their wedding theme colors.
