Their very intimate ceremony and reception was held on the beautiful grounds of the luxurious housing complex they were renting in Pertuis, near Aix-en-Provence, in the south of France.  The statuesque old trees were the most perfect natural scenery, we added just a bit of glamour with a sparkling chandelier and some gorgeous flowers, thanks to the very talented florist, Laetitia C. The couple and their families sat down in the open air to an incredibly delicious French dinner created by the skilled chef Philippe Sublet of Le Restaurant du Lac. Jean-Louis Brun was the photographer that did such a wonderful job capturing the beauty and emotion of the celebration. Congratulations Leah and Matt!

From the DJ-ing for the ceremony, down to set up – your organization of the day was absolutely fabulous. We cannot thank you enough and are absolutely certain our day would not have been so special had you not been there to orchestrate the whole evening. Even a little rain couldn’t keep us down. I am absolutely amazed with Phillip, Jean-Louis, Pastor Pete as well as the ladies from Laetitia C. We are so blown away by everything you’ve done, it was a perfect night and it wouldn’t have been possible without you. We are so amazed. Again, thank you thank you thank you! We recommend that everyone gets married in France!”

Sometimes, there are those events that are so full of love and positive emotion, you can’t help but walk away from them with a smile. Such was the case with Aki and Ambroise’s wedding we recently had the pleasure of creating. Currently living in Hong Kong, the couple has a rich international experience that was full of inspiration.

Aki’s Korean heritage shone after dinner as the country’s traditional percussion and dance  entertained the guests as the bride and groom slipped into Korean attire. Her years spent schooling in the United Kingdom influenced their unique first dance selection – an Irish jig. Native to France area, Ambroise’s upbringing helped bring them to Paris! Their bright and beautiful palette of yellow and green was perfect for spring and cheerfully brought sunshine to a rather rainy day. Add in a dash of passion for animals, a chalet in a Parisian forest, and lots of yellow blooms thanks to Karine at Sol y Flor and you have the recipe for a particularly charming and cheerful wedding celebration. We are so glad we had the super talented Studio Cabrelli to capture all the special moments.  Aki truly was a captivatingly happy bride and Ambroise an enamoured groom – enjoy  some of our favorite photos!

Jubilant organ music filled the sanctuary as it escorted the newly married couple down the aisle.

A bit of Parisian drizzle did not prevent Aki and Ambroise from having a successful photoshoot around the scenic city.

On to the reception at a small chalet in Paris, accessible only by this petite ferry we adorn with blooms.

We found charming ways to incorporate Aki’s love for animals with petite motifs and tables organized by her pets’ names.

The chalet had two distinct spaces for cocktail and reception for us to decorate. Notice the yellow bunting? We made it!

While the couple slipped away to change into traditional Korean attire, the guests were entertained by Korean percussion and dancing. (Yes, we could find that it Paris!)

The next location in our series is a truly a petite gem full of French history. Located in the midst of the city, this chapel was constructed post-Revolution and is dedicated to King Louis XVI and his queen, Marie Antoinette.

Nestled within a park full of tall, leafy trees, the chapel and its green, shrub-lined courtyard are surrounded by a wall, ensuring  a private celebration in this bustling metropolis.

The chapel itself is beautifully decorated in the neoclassical style, which is a visually pleasing surprise from the cleaner lines of the exterior. Whether a small elopement or party of up to approximately forty guests, its size makes it perfect for any type of intimate ceremony. This venue is best suited for ceremonies, so your dinner and reception can take you to another lovely place in Paris if you were to select this location.

The Abbaye des Vaux de Cernay was the perfect fairy tale setting for this regal affair. We searched Paris for the perfect decadent touches to add to the resplendent scene, from gilded candelabras and gold brocade to a veritable throne.

Our favorite mastermind florist Karine behind Sol y Flor completed the luxurious vision with copious amounts of lush white flowers. As the guests flowed into the reception hall, they were greeted at their seats by petit favor boxes holding leather keychains from French luxury goods brand Longchamp and personalized fans imprinted with the wedding logo. They then dined on a international meal complete with both traditional African and French fare. And don’t to forget the cake! The stunning gilded confection stood six layers tall.

Special thanks to a few more talented people and businesses. The wedding logo that added a special, personalized touch to everything from the ceremony programs to the fans was designed by Ceci New York. Makeup artist Cécile Nida Nida did a wonderful job fulfilling the bride’s wishes for an impeccably immaculate look. The whole event was captured by the esteemed videographers at Studio Artifice in an incredible video, stay tuned for its release!
