Press room: Style shoot featured in Pacific Weddings

We had the good fortune to work with Corbin Gurkin on the charming wedding of Faymi & Eric, so we of course jumped at the chance to contribute to the style shoot she had planned for her next trip to Paris. We were very excited to be included in the shoot along with many of the wedding vendors we admire: Sugarplum Cake Shop, Ceci New York, Delphine Manivet and of course, Karine of Sol y Flor, our go-to florist in Paris.

Up in Montmartre on a morning in early spring we set a tablescape in tones of watercolor nudes and peaches, using custom-made linens and heirloom pieces from our personal china cabinets. We also made use of some beautiful objects from Karine’s boutique, such as her gorgeously patinaed iron table and pewter vase.

We think the final effect is quite lovely… and for more photos check out Corbin’s blog!

Faymi & Eric got married last summer in Paris, with an intimate group of (very chic) friends and family. We were very excited when the couple, along with their photographer Corbin Gurkin, informed us that the photos would be featured in a bridal magazine…

The wait was long, but worth it!

In addition to the 2011 Travel Issue of Martha Stewart Weddings, Faymi & Eric’s wedding was also featured on marthastewartweddings.com and 100layercake.com!

Wedding videography: Yes, it’s worth it

Having a great photographer who will capture the moments big and small is an essential part of our clients’ weddings. And of course we love posting our couples’ wedding photos – we get to see the beauty of the day, the bride and groom, and all of the decor details that we helped bring together.

As for wedding videography, most of our clients don’t give it much thought. And if they do, their thoughts are of the cheesy/low-quality/drunken-uncle’s-inappropriate-speech wedding videos of the past.

Well, say hello to the wedding videography of the future:

With an end result like this… Really, who wouldn’t want a beautiful, artistically crafted mini-film as a memory of your wedding?

A summer wedding in Paris

We’ve been lucky enough to organise some beautiful weddings this summer both in Paris and further afield. There’s nothing more enjoyable than seeing a couple and their guests indulge in all the festivities! Here are a few photos from Suzanne and Paul’s wedding that they celebrated here in Paris.

We loved putting all the final touches to this wedding; the table cards named after Paris’ most famous architecture including ‘Le Musée d’Orsay’ and ‘L’Arc de Triomphe’, the mini Eiffel Towers that we used to hold the name cards and the Martini vases overflowing with roses. After a delicious gourmet dinner the reception went into full swing as the the newly weds and their friends dined and danced until the early hours. Many thanks to Kevin and Katie at KHulett Photography who took some fantastic shots and really captured the fun, festive atmosphere that surrounded this wedding.

An adventure and a wedding in one!

Although the criteria for weddings that we do changes constantly as the styles and trends for marriages continually alters, one element never changes. The desire to find a location where family and friends can relax, enjoy and share in the happiness of a newly wedded couple. These days, to fulfill that requirement and entice you to into their abode, many chateaus can organise group activities for you and your guests to partake in during your stay….. an adventure and a wedding in one!

This beautiful Chateau is located in the “golden triangle” of the Dordogne region (think medieval villages, evergreen & oak tree woods, gastronomic delicacies such as foie gras & exquisite wines…) which has activities that appeal to all tastes. You can visit the medieval markets at Sarlat, wonder around the box-tree garden at the Monastery of Marqueyssac, canoe down the Dordogne river, or if you’re feeling a little more energetic even try your hand at spelunking (even just hearing the name makes us want to have a go!)

Aside from all these outdoor adventures the Chateau is also fully equipped to host your wedding. This summer we have had several weddings at this Chateau and each one was personalised to reflect the couple’s ideas for their big day. The Chateau has a lovely small chapel in their grounds where you can have your ceremony or you can take advantage of the gorgeous panoramic views and set the ceremony outside. For a reception meal there are various options which range from a relaxed BBQ right through to a sumptuous dinner. To sum up, it’s a wonderful location where all your friends and family can take pleasure in the beautiful surroundings and gastronomic delights of the region. And if all that adventure wears you out, then we suggest nothing better than a wander over to take a dip in the infinity pool….

If you like what you’ve read don’t hesitate to get in touch at contact@feteinfrance.com. Thanks to Kevin and Katie at KHulett Photography for passing on their beautiful pictures of the wedding we did at the Chateau this summer. They got some fantastic shots and we look forward to working with them again on future weddings.

Romance in Paris

Photogenic couple Tiffany & Matt tied the knot on one of the few sunny days in Paris this summer. Along with many of our brides this season, Tiffany chose gorgeous hues of purple for her bouquet and decoration. Everything was beautifully captured by the great team at One and Only Paris Photography.

We even managed to pull of a guerilla champagne and cake tasting on the Champ de Mars following the ceremony!

Wed among fine wines in a traditional french vineyard…

Set amongst the flourishing vines that soak up the year-round Languedoc sunshine, this charming old vineyard was once a large domain for wine production. Today, its owners have renovated the Chateaus’ old ‘Cave’ (cellar) into a beautiful wedding venue. It’s a perfect setting for any couple that would like to marry in a place soaked in the history of wine production, a culture that the French hold dear.

For a winter wedding you might like to hold your reception inside the grand walls of the Old wine hall; not only are you surrounded by the ancient cuve’s (barrels) once used by the chateau but the staff can also serve you a glass of the delicious local Coteaux du Laguedoc wine from the original wine press that has been transformed into the bar.

For a summer ceremony, the garden or vineyards make a wonderful setting from where to receive your wedding blessing. If you’d prefer a church wedding, the village church is approachable by horse and cart. For an evening celebration, the candelabras and Chinese lanterns adorning the sheltered courtyard provide an ambient, inviting atmosphere in which to receive your guests for your reception.

The house and its cottages (which sleep up to 38 guests in total) are perfectly equipped to suit your needs. On sight chefs cater for all evening dining, which can range from intimate family BBQs to larger style banquets depending on your wishes. Whilst you’re there, you and your guests can take art courses in the grounds, play a round of tennis on the courts, or simply soak up the sun relaxing by the pool.

Why not let a beautiful setting, some fine wines and the glorious south of France sunshine provide the backdrop for your big day?

The weather is starting to warm up as is the wedding season! For the next several months we’re going to be busy busy with weddings in Paris and en province and enjoying the lovely French summer.

But we do love an elegant winter wedding, so if you’re toying with the idea of an end of year fête here are some fabulous photos of a winter wonderland wedding we did in a snow-covered Paris last December.

A huge thanks to Dominique from Studio Cabrelli, whose photo of Jane & Craig in the snow (bottom center) absolutely deserved its award from the Wedding Photojournalist Association!
