Vacation catch-up

Fête in France enjoyed a bit of vacation and is now busybusybusy working on 2010 weddings.  Anne toured around Portugal in the unceasing rain and when she returned, Nancy set off for the Basque Country and enjoyed lovely sunny springtime weather.  Both indulged in the fine foods and wines of the Iberian penninsula.

We won’t bore you with all of our vacation photos – but this one was too cheesy-yet-cute not to share!

Wow — I wish I could copy that to my blog, “Both indulged in the fine foods and wines of the Iberian Peninsula.” That’s a hard life!

The Basque country is a untold story. Espadrilles and Berets are local inventions, you can’t get much more French that that. The Montgolfier brothers first flew their Balloon here (before they took it to Paris). This region also saw the first powered flight outside America. Two brothers unpacked and flew their plane here before showing it in Paris. They were of course the Wright Brothers and there is still a flying school here that bears their name…
