Spur of the moment elopement in Paris

Romantic Wedding in ParisI got a call 2 weeks ago from a couple looking to have a symbolic wedding in Paris on December 28th. Two weeks to pull together a picturesque wedding with the Christmas holidays looming…pas de problème. With that Fête in France sprang into action and set up the couple with not one, but two, fabulous photographers, a chauffeured car to take them around the city for photos, a hair and makeup appointment at a local salon and a celebrant to perform the ceremony. Now, where to have the actual ceremony that was both intimate, romantic and budget friendly? In our very first conversation the couple mentioned to me the name of a restaurant that they had a wonderful memory of in Paris. With that detail in mind, I checked out the restaurant further and was able to reserve for them a private salon with a beautiful window that overlooks a secluded place in the center of Paris. Here are a few pictures from the talented One and Only Paris Photographers – Audrey and Anthony.

Event Industry Expo 2009

I recently attended the Heavent conference at the Porte de Versailles expo center in Paris.  This is where industry professionals gather to see what are the hot new trends and products that can make an event unique and cool.  A great way for Fête in France to stay ahead of the curve!

Winter Wonderland Château Wedding

Most people think warm weather for a wedding but the winter wedding is under rated in our opinion! Here are some pictures from a château wedding we organized yesterday. The ceremony took place in the chateau’s chapel (which was specially heated for the occasion), followed by a cocktail hour with a champagne fountain and roaring fire. Next guests were treated to a French meal of foie gras, scallops, rack of lamb, local cheeses and a pièce montée, (French wedding cake) for dessert. Decor was silver, white and violet with lots of candles and lighting for that extra dramatic effect!

Perks: Industry events

One of the benefits of being a wedding planner is that we get invitations to industry events.  These events, thrown by venues we have worked with, equipment rental companies, or other vendors in the industry, are a way for the vendor to show off their new menu or new line of art de la table.  For the invitees, it’s an excuse to shake hands with the vendor rep you don’t often get to see and then make a bee-line for the champagne and canapés.

We love when people request to have their wedding in Paris, because we get to propose one of our favorite venues: a boat which cruises the Seine.  The scenery is spectacular, the food is delicious and the staff are welcoming.  Our preferred charter company has thrown two events in the past 3 months, and Anne and I got to attend.  Ce n’est pas beau, la vie?

Introducing “Fête Notes”

Now that our website has been updated with new pictures and venues and looks quite lovely, it’s time to spend a little QT with our attention-starved blog.

This new section will chronicle the interesting and everyday things we do at Fête in France.  I put my thinking cap on to come up with a witty title as a bloggeur/euse is wont to do.  “Fête Notes” came to me.  Get it?  Like “foot notes”.  Because it’s notes.  About what Fête in France does.  And it’s at the bottom of the page.

Well, I like it.  And now that that’s out of the way, you can look forward to more posts with riveting action and wedding tips.  I hope you’ll check back regularly!
